Position Goal
The Attendance Clerk works under minimal direct supervision and maintains student computer records and assists the front office while exercising appropriate judgment and working within the scope of authority.

Ability to type reports, complete data sheets and process student information quickly and accurately.
Ability to compose letters with proper use of grammar and punctuation.
Ability to communicate effectively with teachers, parents, students, District staff and the general public.
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and handle continuous interruptions.
Knowledge of school policies.
Public school experience preferred.
Bilingual ability may be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Maintains automated student attendance records.
Maintains and safeguards student records.
Maintains master schedule file.
Records grades, credits and other required student information into District automated system.
Compiles information and prepares accurate enrollment reports including entry and withdrawal information as required by District administration, Pinal County and/or the Arizona Department of Education.
Recommends plans and procedures necessary to provide adequate information to maintain the Student Information System.
Schedules all student and class schedule changes through cooperation with the principal.
Sets up registrations of new students and withdrawals of exiting students.
Sends for transcripts and receives transcripts on students.
Compiles and submits reports to administration and the Arizona Department of Education on a timely basis.
Maintains effective communication with parents, staff and the general public.
Works closely with administrators, staff and District staff regarding student information.
Creates filing system for student records, and ensures that records management procedures meet all legal requirements.
Calls parents to notify and verify student absences.
Provides general front office support and operates general office machines.
Creates documents and spread sheets as needed.
Assists administrators and supervisors with assigned duties as directed.
Assists with districtwide assessments by collecting student data and test materials, sorting and distributing test materials to schools, scanning and scoring, and reporting of results.
Assists with developing and maintaining support materials, user manuals, and other documents.
Assists with inventory and ordering of supplies, forms and equipment.
Receives visitors, phone calls, and provides information to the general public, or makes referrals to other staff members, when appropriate.
Performs other duties as assigned by the School Principal pursuant to authority under law and regulations of the State Board of Education.
